Veteos Passion Projects

One of our favorite parts about focusing our work exclusively in the veterinary industry is that we can give back to the industry through the passion projects we work on. Here are some projects we’ve made for a good cause.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

Gender Identity Bill of Rights

The Gender Identity Bill of Rights is a group of twelve rights that define a minimum foundation to identify and eliminate discriminatory practices against transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming individuals in the veterinary profession. Veteos is proud to be a signer of this document and we follow the policies within our company. Learn more about the Gender Identity Bill of Rights and how to sign the document yourself at PrideVMC’s Website.

A Profession in Crisis

It is said that the veterinary profession is the least diverse profession in the United States. This video was produced with our friends at the Multicultural Veterinary Medical Association to raise awareness and advocate for policy change. The video was shown during an AVMA House of Delegates meeting that resulted in the creation of several new initiatives.

The First But Not the Last

This collaboration between the Multicultural Veterinary Medical Association, Black DVM Network, and Veteos highlights the first Black veterinarian graduates – who despite all the challenges, were determined to forge their own paths in veterinary medicine.

Cost of Care

Inner Thoughts About Cost of Care

As the cost of veterinary care continues to rise, pet owners and veterinary teams often find their perspectives misunderstood. This video, produced alongside our friends at MightyVet, aims to narrow that divide (while having a little fun).

Veterinary Suicide, Compassion Fatigue, and Wellness

One in every six veterinarians has considered suicide. That’s three times the national average. We’ve partnered with several organizations the past several years to produce videos that raise awareness and direct people to resources.

Moral Stresses of Euthanasia

Euthanasia is tough…on pet parents and veterinary staff alike. We produced this video in collaboration with MightyVet to raise awareness about the moral stresses surrounding euthanasia and help promote MightyVet’s mission to better equip veterinary students for the challenges ahead.

MightyVet — Sophia Yin & Shane Cote

These two videos produced with MightyVet tell the stories of two individuals who committed suicide, Sophia Yin and Shane Cote. As with any issue, it’s easy to focus on the “issue” and lose sight of the real people it affects. These videos aim to give the issue of veterinary suicide a name and a face. More information and free CE is available at mightyvet.org.

Empathy in Veterinary Practices

Caring for others starts with understanding that there’s often more to the story. With the support of Brandon Hess, CVPM, CCFP and VetSupport, we hope to stir up conversation about empathy in veterinary practices.

Veterinary Compassion Fatigue: Four Stories

We created this video with VetSupport to raise awareness of veterinary compassion fatigue and help start conversations. The more we talk about this important topic, the more we can support one another. More resources can be found here. A big thanks to Brandon Hess and all of the interview participants for making this possible.
